Holiday Shopping
I had the opportunity to visit a local car dealership this afternoon that I’ve visited a few times. Car shopping, whether it’s for me or not, is always fun to me. Plus, this dealership is pretty unique. Autosport Designs in Huntington Station, NY, is home to Long Island’s (maybe NY’s as well?) only factory authorized Lotus sales and service center. It’s also home to a vast collection of vintage, exotic cars for sale. The facility is beautiful, the staff and owners are enthusiasts and gentlemen, and there’s enough eye candy in their facility to take up a solid day.
Although my attention was occupied by checking out a new Lotus that my friend is interested in, I couldn’t help but admire the auto-porn that was surrounding me. Let me show you what I’m talking about…

If this Exige was in inventory when I was shopping here for one back in the Spring, it would be in my driveway. Perfect. I’m almost tempted to unload the S2000 in favor of this car right now.

In case of emergency, dial 911.
I’m not sure if I’ve caught the Rauh-Welt bug or what, but I’m developing a fond appreciation for air-cooled 911′s. I’ve been considering replacing my daily driver for some time now, and when it comes to daily drivers, practicality typically comes to mind. Early model 911′s aren’t exactly practical for an 80 minute round trip daily commute, but if I happened to come across a fine example of a 911, I think I’d be forced to make a questionable decision. Personality, nostalgia, style, this car just has all that I’m looking for.

The Definition of Function.
Jeff Zwart, seven time Pikes Peak Champion, proves to us in these edits that a car can be both road legal and lethal on the track. Form and function are becoming a must in todays tuning community. So, what better car to pick than Porsches 911 GT2 RS to road trip up to Pikes. No trailer needed for this boss. Enjoy these three video clips from Will Roegge as you follow Jeff Zwart and see what it takes to break records and battle one of Americas toughest tracks and oldest races.

Success: Rotiform’d 996 Porsche
By now you’ve seen a considerable amount of “dream” cars shared by none other than Spilner but what would ultimately capture my interests is how these obviously wealthy individuals accumulated the amount of disposable income to own these cars. To me success isn’t defined by a financial amount, it is measured by how far an individual has come, in other words their achievements/merits, which is why this ’02 C4s graces ILE below. On the lot, the 911 isn’t the premier selection but with some very special modifications to a few select areas the 996 would compete for your attention beside any Porsche offering. Characterize yourself not by comparing yourself to others but by how you measure up against your own expectations. “Do not expect the worst, hope for the best.” “Shoot for the stars, land on the moon.”

RTR Porsche Club @ Watkins Glen International 2011
Watkins Glen International was “long known around the World as the home of the United States Grand Prix, which it hosted for 20 consecutive years (1961–1980), but it has been a venue to road racing of nearly every class for over 50 years, including Formula One, the World Sportscar Championship, Can-Am, NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, and the IndyCar Series.”
Having visited Seneca Lake on numerous occasions, I’ve always planned on one day trying my luck on the historic circuit and when an opportunity presented itself via the Riesentöter Porsche Club the ability to decline was immediately waived.
… and on that weekend not a single f$%& was given

Body Count RWB Porsche
“The competition is a skinny b-tch, nobody”- Fabolous
I don’t think RWB’s 930 and 964 Porsches will ever lose their attractiveness, at least in my eyes. Taking style cues from a tuning generation before me, the aggressive exterior in addition to the timeless SSR SP1s account for a majority of my fascination. The cult like following also factors into the equation and the flat pastel color palette keeps things interesting. As a fan and admirer of all individuals that pursue their dreams, I’d like to praise Nakai-San as his interviews inspire me to persevere beyond the hurdles and be goal oriented.

Curb Appeal

Easy On The Eyes
Clash Productions always produces the highest quality features and this video is no exception. The angles, cuts and song give the lapping experience a life of it’s own. You’ll quickly recognize the difference between something you’ve seen carelessly composed on Speed Channel and this edit which, clearly, has more thought and time invested into it.
Enjoy,

Dream Weaving
I’ve recently put an order for new wheels and I can do nothing but think about them. Attempting to distract myself, I’ve unsuccessfully found this gorgeous 911. Dream on

Another Day, Another Dollar
Wrong. For those of us who see each day as another chance to earn that “dollar” as if it is a fixed linear equation… Use this moment to free yourself from that very conservative mindset and think outside the predetermined constraints established by none other than yourself. Far too often I listen to my friends, family, and acquaintances doubt themselves in regards to any goals, dreams or aspirations they have and furthermore listen to them doubt me. Psh. Enough. “Another day, another OPPORTUNITY.” Take advantage or be taken advantage of.

Heroes and Legends: Nakai-San
Before I continue let’s see those LS400s: I Just Wanna Be Successful Contest
Against all odds individuals like Nakai-San, the man behind the “skittled” and widebodied Porsches, have achieved success from pure passion. Having been inspired by American car films such the original Gone in 60 seconds at age 7, the enthusiasm for automotive performance and style has apparently grown to massive proportions. Motivated by his achievement and lifestyle I wanted to invite you to take a look at what you’re doing and ask yourself if you’re living it right?

Notable excerpts from Eurotuner Magazine’s Article
“Unlike most tuners, Nakai-san sees the flaws in each car as part of its character; the same way most of us view older cars, where the ritual of repairing faulty wiring or cajoling a stubborn starter motor brings you closer to the car. As a result, he builds the cars with rivets, tape and zipties, ignoring imperfections in search of the car’s soul.”
“All RWB cars are dual-purpose; built for the street and track. “Neither is more or less important,” we were told. However, his greatest inspiration is from driving on the street. “When he catches his car’s reflection in a shop window, that’s when he sees the car showcased.”

2011 GT3 RSR IS HERE!
Thats right folks, the 911 gt3 rsr has arrived! This German monster made its debut just two days ago and is already creating an international buzz. The twentyeleven cranks out 455hp from its 4.0 liter flat six which is just 5 more horsepower than the previous year rsr. This may not seam like much but add in some aero modifications that increase downforce as well as wider front wheels and tires to help reduce understeer and that could be all this Porsche needs to edge out the competition. The price is about $542,500 so it’s probably not going to end up in just anyones garage but on the brighter side, if you have the current model rsr Porsche will happily upgrade it to 2011 spec at discounted rate. Now if only that meant something to me
Here’s a look at this track demon!

Sinister 997 Turbo
Watching these Aston Martins on Top Gear has instigated a search for high performance exotics. A 997 turbo is looking like a platform that has plenty of potential to cure my tuning addiction in the future.

Super Car Heaven
This evening would mark my second day in what some would consider the East Coast super car heaven, that is Miami, Florida. Not here longer than approximately 36 short hours I’ve already crossed paths with nearly a dozen Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Maseratis and so on and so forth. With that said, it only seemed appropriate to educate myself in preparation of potential networking opportunities during my stay. Researching the apparent standard here, the Porsche 911, my 964 fixation relapsed and my attention went other places.

From what I understand this 911 can be found lapping the Nurburgring regularly. I love it.

I’ve always admired the the Porsche 964 coupe and what better way to display my interests in the platform than a few pictures.

Stellaaaaaa
I think I might start drinking Stella Artois just because of their phenomenal taste in cars. Just when I thought I was sick and tired of flat black murdered out whips… this sexy 930 by Nakai-san came and snapped me out of it. Gotta love those Porsche spoilers !
Im guessing this was taken back in ’08 because of the watermark, but this car has definitely been around for a while competing in classic races with its beastly Promodet built engine. Now it just needs a black and gold Ivy League East skull.

Lap of Luxury
As I get closer to my graduation ceremony my new (used) car considerations have grown as I’ll probably splurge after I get my first reasonably paid position. Since I posted the 911 slant nose a few days ago, der German inside of me has run wild. With respect to my thoughts, I’ve done my best to be realistic when compiling my options (no I haven’t haha).
