Stolen
As much as I’d like to have a “daily” gum scraper like the EG bubble below or the Acura Integras I’ve been sharing, the idea of having it stolen at every moment is incredibly discouraging. SMH

“Success isn’t measured by the position you reach in life: it’s measured by the obstacles you overcome.”
-Booker T. Washington
I like to believe this Honda Civic initially developed to be an economical commuter car is a proper example of the quote above. Often a joke to the car enthusiast outside the Honda community it’s the underdog that was the foundation for an entire generation of tuners. True story, this Summer at a Watkins Glen circuit day with the PCA a gentleman driving a 996 GT3 Cup was more than enthusiastic about a turbo Civic at the clubs last outing. G’night

IDGAFOS…
Having attended Wek’Fest San Francisco a handful of months ago reality struck and the idea of ever getting featured in a magazine given the caliber of cars in attendance and the slow extinction of print was killed. And it didn’t really matter but the thought of magazines truly disappearing considering the quality of information the medium communicates is tragic to say the least. Yes there is heaps of information on the internet in the form of “DIYs,” reviews and such but few times are they as informative, suggesting tips and insight, as let’s say, HondaTuning. Many times I’ve encountered incongruences with user write ups on forums and I’m sure you have as well but the point is magazines of which we/I discovered JDM tuning and all things related are vanishing. Do yourself and the industry a favor and subscribe to whatever tuning magazine you read while sipping your large latte at Barnes and Noble with your girlfriend as it is about 25% the cost of the yearly subscription. It’s not about the money though, it’s about the reach and without that we are doomed to read poorly written posts, such as my own (you know this is a joke my posts are award winning), about how someone’s family member or friend inspired them to begin modifying cars so he/she stanced the shit out of there Suby. Batten down the hatches!
Hurricane Irene has come and gone, and thankfully we not only maintained our cars (and our own personal well-being), it was actually a pretty good time. On Saturday afternoon we decided a keg of beer would be a great way to weather the storm, and so the ILE crew plus friends spent the evening at my apartment making good times happen. Despite weakening significantly before hitting us, the wind and the tides did their damage. But fortunately we didn’t lose power at any point, which not only kept the party going into the morning, but facilitated a well deserved day of recovery with nothing to do but scour forums. Here’s a few highlights:
The Project Car
Having just passed my friend Sean in his “commuter” EF Civic of which he’s repainting habanero red and swapping in a b16A motor, O and might I add he just bought coil-overs for the thing, it brought to concern why someone would invest so much time into what some individuals would identify as “junk”, if you will. Having met Sean when he owned a 550+HP Suzuka Blue S2000 and seen him tinker around with a relatively fast Evolution 9, it boggled my mind as to why he’d pursue a car that in comparison to his previous toys is of NO comparison whatsoever, in any respect. For some it maybe the car that they’ve always had interest in as a child but knowing Sean and how old he is suggests otherwise. Idle hands? Quick flip? Boredom? Who knows but when I take on a new perspective and reflect upon my S2000 I guess the same could be said if you were mister money bags. :shurgs:
Is the phase “economy sports car” an oxymoron only to be realized with more money?

Ferio’cious: Track Civic Sedan
Having previously owned a Civic sedan when I was in high school , that was, as you could already imagine, stolen, this street/ track Civic (JDM sland- Ferio) evokes strong nostalgic emotions :sigh:.

Redrum: Accord and Civic
Small>Average>NICE!
If you haven’t seen this pair of Hondas yet enjoy. The Accord coupe and Civic sedan do the slacking moniker justice in the FF department. We can only hope that Honda goes away from the wet noodle economy hybrid cars. Would it be too much to ask for the HSV-10 to go into production?

My Boy Blue: EG
I can’t deny my love and affection for a well executed EG Honda Civic and neither should you. Borrowed from none other than the Nation of Stance, otherwise known as Stance:Nation
, this bubble has just been added added to my personal favorites chart.

HonDerp Civic CRX…
Del Sol. Perhaps be most confusing Civic chassis as you can barely define the peculiar targa top. Not quite a coupe, not quite a convertible, definitely not a CRX, a fact taken into consideration as the CRX and Civic label was dropped outside of the Japanese Domestic Market. Nevertheless, the unique Honda platform has found its place among niche enthusiasts looking for something special amongst the Honda line up.

EF Yeah!
It’s hard to believe that nearly twenty years ago Honda debuted the EF civic, a car that revolutionized the tuning aftermarket. Embracing the most current trends, this particular Civic has withstood the test of time and managed to become an internet icon.

Nostalgia: Volk’d EG Civic
Something about this EG Civic brings me back to my high school days when Sport Compact Magazine was my religion and all I could dream of was building a b-series Civic (It might be time to make that dream come true.) In other news, earlier today the gentlemen and I posse’d up and made way to the Metro NY Porsche Club’s 3rd Auto-X of the season at Tobay. As you could image it was filled with P cars of various generations as well as a number of Miatas. Holding true to our JDM roots, 3 out of the 5 us put our rice burners to the test. At the end of the day we left with ear to ear smiles, mildly bruised egos and short $40 but I guarantee you we’ll be back for some more

Roll’d Up Aces Over Kings. EK9 Civic
Having caught the racing bug my “stanced” S2000 is in need of some handling correction. Running nearly -3 (front) and -4 (rear) degrees of camber, my grip is suffering due to the minimal contact patch. Wanting to maintain the stock body while running my RPF-1s, Spilner and I split a roller to solve my problems and take care of business. :Fingers Crossed:

Sailor Spoon
Skip to 4:15… What we have is a k20a, Spoon tuned ek9 civic brought to us from the fine boys and girls at GT-Channel and Best Motoring International. Receiving nothing but praise from the legendary Tsuchiya, the hatchback in motion is much like a dream coming to life for many fanbois like myself.

OMG. EF UR SUV
Caught this sick animal on CANIBEAT.COM and had no choice but to repost. I think it is in every V-TEC fanbois list of things to do, of course that is if you haven’t already, to build at least 1 Civic, No? Definitely on mine.

Reiterate
Like I’ve mentioned before, you can never go wrong with a clean Civic. The NorthEast is saturated with EF,EG and EK tuners but few of them have any sense of style which is why I praise tastefully executed Hondas like you see below.

Oh the 90′s
I couldn’t help but think about the Fast and the Furious style cars when I saw the cleared tail lights on this EG. I was born in Flushing, NY so when I was younger, little cars with huge wings, unnecessary chrome mods, and flashing lights were all too familiar. However, I do like how this bubble looks. The otherwise “ricey” cleared tail lights work for this car in my opinion. What do you guys think about the cleared tails?
