Worked Up Z4M

Work wheels are a house hold name amongst JDM wheel aficionados but few German enthusiasts are willing to dish out the big bucks and risk being outcast by their peers. Acting without hesitation, Thatcher, shocks and awes with his Z4M’s impressive wheel set up, Work Meister SP1′s.

Sunday at Airport Plaza, Farmingdale 5/1

Spring flexed its muscles as Sunday’s weather presented a perfect opportunity  for a subtle meet with some Euros. Unable to make the trip to Englishtown Raceway in New Jersey for Spring Nationals, Chris, Matt, Dirty, Evan (Newest Addition) and I organized and made way to Farmingdale, NY.

CALI BABY OOO OOOOO!

Sorry for the lack of post this week. The team and I had our first meet on Wednesday and after that we made way to San Francisco for Wek’fest. Refusing to keep you fine ladies and gentlemen in the dark on our adventures, I’ve been photo-documenting all the debauchery and chaos transpiring and pending.

SWAG

Hopefully the Audi sells soon, which will bring me to my next car. Although I’m on the lookout for another STI, I also have dreams of tuning many other platforms. This being one of them.

Low and Rusty

Titled after the owner’s words, this Mk1 stays true to them. Rolling on 13×8 et0 Diamond Racing Steelies the Jetta coupe captures my automotive heart. I can’t wait for the spring.

Artie S13

While I’ve clearly missed the S13, S14, and S15 days (January 3rd-5th), Artie’s Silvia (240sx) is more than qualified for an individual feature on any occasion. Having executed each element of this build on his own with none other than the help of his close friends, the car is the epitome of clean.  Rather than bore you with a excessively descriptive summary on how I first stumbled upon this car or his humble personality, I’ll roll with my writers block and let the images speak for themselves.

Z4M Coupe, So Sleazy

As the stance frenzy continues to grow beyond control, it’s exciting to see a chassis such as the Z4M coupe adopt this performance diminishing trend. Rather than harp on the drawbacks, one could always change wheels, raise ride height and get re-aligned for some circuit time.

I Feel Like Flying

The Sc300/Sc400/Soarer has always charmed me in a very special way. Sharing many qualities with the famed Supra, the close cousin is often that middle ground or heavy hitting performer with a ton of poise. Tuning to me is a balance between function and form, too much of either is unrealistic when the candidate has double duty.

Yikes

I’m completely aware of the risk I take owning a S2000, a risk not related to the cars horsepower output or handling, nor the sensitive differential but one associated with the “deep-bolstered” racing styled seats.

Last night as I started my car after the gym I noticed a note left on my windshield. Interested as to what it read, like anyone would be, I reached out my window only to discover that someone, probably one of my friends, was interested in borrowing my seats forever and evidently knows where I live. Haha I’m not 100% sure who the author is although I have to credit them for a good laugh.

In any case, Stefan Bolianaz from Canada recently had some shots taken of his RX7 by Nyk Why. You may remember some premature photos that I shared of his car before his stance was dialed in. If not, no worries. These look much better

19th Annual Fall Show and Go!

We couldn’t have asked for anything better than what yesterday had brought. Awesome weather, awesome day, and some awesome cars. A lot or people showed for the last show of the year and it was a terrific turnout. I can’t wait to see what everyone has in store for next year…

Silly Abbit (W.)

Before everyone knew Abbit W. for his wrong fitment and risky ride height STi, he was grooving to a slightly different beat. The apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree but I, for one, can always appreciate a great GC Impreza.

Z Thiry-Four

The 370z boast achievement in the areas of performance where the 350z falls short. Impressive you say? I’d agree. But where the heir seems to be unsuccessful is in the looks department. Initially it appeared their was little hope for the successor given the OEM options but with aftermarket support the Z-car looks to be following the ugly duckling plot. Taking the typical “go big or go home” Texan initiative, this owner takes the funny fanged coupe to the next level with the help of Amuse. I’m still not crazy over it but I do believe it is a huge step forward.

Drift Faction

I’ve never heard of the Drift Faction but it might be due to the fact that I don’t drift. Giving respect when respect is deserved, this Massachusetts’ team/club* does the 180sx justice keeping their Nissan’s in a healthy state (in consideration of 80% of 240s out there, these 240s are phenomenal).

WHY!?

Why would you intentionally rust your hood and trunk?! The JDM conversion Integra looks great but it is ruined by the corroded bonnet and boot. The paint looks immaculate which is why I’m distraught by the poor presentation. It just seems wrong… Aside from that it looks great like I said

What’s to Hate?

I had an interesting discussion with a friend of mine concerning his disgust with the Honda and Acura brand. So I presented him with the question, why? Why was he so opposed to the community I consider my “home?” His response was simple. First, he didn’t enjoy the exhaust tone. This is understandable, some people enjoy different exhaust notes, fine. Second and probably the most expected, was the communities’ stereotypical “ricer” appearance. Disappointed with brand communities’ position in the mind of the automotive market, I’m determined to change the image of the tuning organization.

BMWs are no slouch when it come to fitment but it most typically comes in the form of a very attractive E36. This Z4m coupe makes you forget all about those E thirrrrr…. Wait, what was I saying?
