Ryder’s DC5
One can’t complain about seeing the progress a car had made, at least not one that looks like Ryder’s DC5 Acura RSX.

The RSX and Si may well be one of Honda’s last performance FWD combustion engine “sports cars” but it is by no means the least admired. Having always been a fan of the Integra, their was no debate as to wether or not I was a fan of the DC5.

Pink means… RSX
After hearing and reading about Honda Day’s epic attendance at Atco Raceways I couldn’t help but to post something to support the community. Everyone loves to hate FF Honda’s so I figured I’d share one that’d received praise from Honda’s fanbois and the utmost hate from errrrrrrbody else.

Track season is almost within reach and I can’t stop thinking about buying up an Integra. Having always wanted to build one, I think it might be time to take advantage of one and lap the s%&T out of it on the track and preserve the S2000. :shrugs:

I’m itching to pick up a set of mesh wheels and this RSX is not helping. Looking super sassy on a set of Gold Works, JPdc5 displays just how easy it is to make an RSX Type-S “shine.”

FRENCH’s post a few days before reminded me of this one USDM Integra that caught my eye as I browsed through my flickr contact’s photostreams. Faiz Rahman, a fellow east coast photographer and a GREAT one at that, shot so called Mick’s Integra. The photos definitely do the car justice and there’s nothing I can really criticize about the car. Some nice fitting 2 Piece Meisters, an awesome shade of ruby red, and one really clean engine bay. This is an example of a quality build and definitely one that stands out from the rest of the tegs out there. Be sure to check out Faiz’s flickr and his website as well.

Essential
Before I leave to grab something to defeat my hunger, I felt this very simple Integra was worth sharing. Custom cream colored Regamaster Evos with a healthy stance create just enough contrast to set them apart from the norm.

Thrilled
It’s hard to describe the feeling I get when I come across an awesome Integra or Civic. I’m not sure what it is that gets me animated about the budget race cars but there are definitely too many awful attempts at the platforms. This one stopped me dead in my tracks.

TRUTH HURTS
“Let’s face it, outside our little bubble, the average consumer doesn’t really want, or need, a fast Civic,” states Rodrez in the latest Honda Tuning magazine and he’s absolutely correct. He continues pointing out that Honda, in reality, has always been focused on “people-moving based on MPGs, value, and reliability.” But, what is it about the economical, cost-friendly, rice cooker powered Honda that attracts us? Is it the ability to put your own touch to the chassis at an affordable price? Perhaps, but there is always Nissan who has built performance themed platforms from the factory and also has a reasonably priced aftermarket. What I believe, although many Honda enthusiasts would hate to admit, is the challenge of winning after being recognized as the long shot. Yes, you’re the underdog. With the exclusion of the NSX, S2000, SI & Type R editions and maybe the RSX Type-S, Honda has put little effort into appeasing their tuner following which makes us even more interested. Doesn’t it? With that said, take a moment to appreciate your rice bucket as your hard work and DIY mentality will one day pay off when you wipe the smirk off your opponent’s face as you overtake them at a fraction of the cost.

Honda.Day.2010
Yesterday, August 15 2010, Joe aka FRENCH and myself went to Honda Day 2010 at Englishtown (props to Sean PANA Stuart for inviting us). So here’s how the day went for me. Woke up at 6:30 AM to wash the car, took a shower, headed out to meet up with FRENCH, and then drove to E-town. I was in the show, but I didn’t compete because of complications with registration, but I still had a lot of fun. It was great to see some familiar faces and some e-famous and not so famous rides. I met up with PANA and we talked for a few and he gave us some crazy complements which really meant a lot. It was great to have conversation with a fellow car enthusiast and photographer about more than just cars and pictures of cars, but its culture. We can look at pictures all we want, but growth in the enthusiast, the culture, and the quality of the cars being built, is the ultimate goal of IvyLeagueEast because for those people out there that really do build cars because of their love for cars and all things incorporated, the car would not be sh!t without them. Remember, YOU should be building the car, NOT an internet forum, NOT a viral website, NOT youtube, just YOU!
So this post goes out to all of our less fortunate single cam, non-vtec toting car owners, as well as our lucky DOHC vtec equipped B, H, F, 2.0 or 2.4 liter K series, or 6 cylinder J series boasting die hard Honda fans.
Special shout-outs go out to Sean PANA Stuart, Sol Fresh Krew, New Image Motorsports, Dave Tormey and the rest of the Canibeat crew, and the one guy with the Red S2000 on teal Works for shutting-it-down!
Here’s our coverage from the show. Forgive me for the quantity of pictures that I took, but I think these will suffice.

FF FTW
There is something special about Honda and their FF platforms. The Civic, Integra, Prelude and Accord , initially gaining a reputation for being fuel-efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly have disrupted the automotive tuning culture as a whole. Noted as the underdog in almost any competitive situation, these long shots are what captured my attention as a young man and as result have indirectly started Ivy League East.
1fastk of clubRSX and Ukinayo has been through more sets of wheels than Infinit Wheels has in stock. Searching for something “more slim” at the moment he settles on a set of Volk Racing Fzero Challenge 18×8 18×9 +43 on 225-40-R18. It’s great to see some variety considering the popularity of CCWs, Advan RSs and RZs .

Mugen On Up
Tomorrow marks the last class of my undergraduate college career and I can do nothing but smile. A few characters have already attempted to rain on my parade by commenting on the job market but the show must go on.

Club RSX BBQ @ Hempstead Lake Statepark
The weekend was full of spontaneous meets from the EE Militia meet to the Jones Beach Euro meet to the Club RSX BBQ to the Tri-State Evo BBQ, all in two days :exhale: Flaking out on Summer Slam, we headed into Nassau on Sunday for the North East region’s RSX BBQ. Initially we were discouraged by sparing turn out, but the amount of camaraderie expressed by the attendees erased any doubt of the events success.

One More Time
Again another reminder about Sunday’s Club RSX Meet at Hempstead State Park. Unfortunately, we have plans to head out Englishtown for Summer Slam as we have been to more than a couple Club RSX meets. But, that shouldn’t discourage you from attending haha.

Boom Chicka Wah Wah
The North East Club RSX meet/BBQ is right around the corner, in other words it is SUNDAY. Therefore I wanted to feature an RSX that would not only be a great example of a well executed Acura but also a reminder of the strength of the community.

If you can, head out Sunday and show your support please do. All types of vehicles are welcome just no thieves or fools
Attention: Club RSX Meet
One of our loyal followers, Tom, always gives us the heads up on the North East Region Club RSX meets. In appreciation of his support I’d like to bring your attention to the event.

Picture Me Rollin’
I was absorbing my financial management text book and business marketing management slides and I figured I’d take a moments break to share with you something that is very close to me, that is Volk TE37s. This RSX was previously featured but these shots are those of another photographer. None other than, Adam Frandsen. This Florida native is on the rise having recently shot a feature for S3 Magazine. Keep your eyes peeled for more visual pleasures by this dude.

Sunk and Dumped RSX Type S
This RSX has a super sick stance. I wish I could give you the suspension details but when I found these new pictures of the type-s without the faded plaid wrapped around the hood I rushed to grab them before looking for features. Twheels are 5-Zigen FN01RCs as for the width and offsets, you’re own your own.

LI, NY locals: Tuner meet Sunday, March 21st @ 234 Airport Plaza Boulevard, Farmingdale, NY 11735, 12pm
“Gold Fancy!”
It seems as if the formula to having an appealing car has been figured out. Performance aside, it involves flush-nearly wrong fitment wheels and a risky drop. All another options are subject to interpretation, but, it is apparent that these elements are becoming, if not are, the standard. With the recipe calculated, the attention to detail has reached a pinnacle. The use of carbon fiber exist everywhere and bay tucks are par. In search of a RSX that observes these guidelines I rifled through clubRSX and found this gold type-S.

Drawing Conclusions
“The test of all knowledge is experiment”
-Richard Feynman
After asking a bunch of questions, doing some background research and constructing a hypothesis, it can be concluded that TE37s are a perfect match for Hondas. Lately I’ve been a wheel whore learning the jargon and production methods. In the midst of my research I’ve done my best to understand which wheels are “rare,” an expression used LOOSELY immediately after wheels are discontinued. HA. From my understanding time attack TE37s have been the only TEs to be discontinued. Correct me if I’m wrong.
