Stolen
As much as I’d like to have a “daily” gum scraper like the EG bubble below or the Acura Integras I’ve been sharing, the idea of having it stolen at every moment is incredibly discouraging. SMH

IDGAFOS…
Having attended Wek’Fest San Francisco a handful of months ago reality struck and the idea of ever getting featured in a magazine given the caliber of cars in attendance and the slow extinction of print was killed. And it didn’t really matter but the thought of magazines truly disappearing considering the quality of information the medium communicates is tragic to say the least. Yes there is heaps of information on the internet in the form of “DIYs,” reviews and such but few times are they as informative, suggesting tips and insight, as let’s say, HondaTuning. Many times I’ve encountered incongruences with user write ups on forums and I’m sure you have as well but the point is magazines of which we/I discovered JDM tuning and all things related are vanishing. Do yourself and the industry a favor and subscribe to whatever tuning magazine you read while sipping your large latte at Barnes and Noble with your girlfriend as it is about 25% the cost of the yearly subscription. It’s not about the money though, it’s about the reach and without that we are doomed to read poorly written posts, such as my own (you know this is a joke my posts are award winning), about how someone’s family member or friend inspired them to begin modifying cars so he/she stanced the shit out of there Suby. Constructive Criticism: EG Bubble
Far too often we are burdened with the criticism of the internet without any input as to how to appease the individual’s tastes. Sure, everyones’ input has some influence on the enthusiast’s build but it when nears the edge of the social norm and what “isn’t” cool, in any regard, members’ “two-cents” comes short changed, that is, without the constructive suggestion. Perhaps I’m beating a dead horse but being that what is considered common sense usually is not I see it as an opportunity to communicate my growing concern for the overall well being of the community. Carry on.

This slammed Honda EG Civic on Work Meisters is a platform that I’m sure would receive the most bias evaluation

It’s good to see individuals doing things differently in the Honda community especially if the outcome is as such.

Ferio’cious: Track Civic Sedan
Having previously owned a Civic sedan when I was in high school , that was, as you could already imagine, stolen, this street/ track Civic (JDM sland- Ferio) evokes strong nostalgic emotions :sigh:.

My Boy Blue: EG
I can’t deny my love and affection for a well executed EG Honda Civic and neither should you. Borrowed from none other than the Nation of Stance, otherwise known as Stance:Nation

Nostalgia: Volk’d EG Civic
Something about this EG Civic brings me back to my high school days when Sport Compact Magazine was my religion and all I could dream of was building a b-series Civic (It might be time to make that dream come true.) In other news, earlier today the gentlemen and I posse’d up and made way to the Metro NY Porsche Club’s 3rd Auto-X of the season at Tobay. As you could image it was filled with P cars of various generations as well as a number of Miatas. Holding true to our JDM roots, 3 out of the 5 us put our rice burners to the test. At the end of the day we left with ear to ear smiles, mildly bruised egos and short $40 but I guarantee you we’ll be back for some more

Everytime I come across a unmodified EG or EK hatch I’m tempted to pull the trigger and start another project.

Oh the 90′s
I couldn’t help but think about the Fast and the Furious style cars when I saw the cleared tail lights on this EG. I was born in Flushing, NY so when I was younger, little cars with huge wings, unnecessary chrome mods, and flashing lights were all too familiar. However, I do like how this bubble looks. The otherwise “ricey” cleared tail lights work for this car in my opinion. What do you guys think about the cleared tails?

Pretty Bubbles!
This afternoon good ole D’dirty and I made our way into NYC to chat it up with our friend and site developer Ry’Rich to discuss the rejuvenation of the lovely Ivy League East page. Excited? Me too. After tossing around ideas for a few hours, we’ve come to some what of an agreement in regards to appearance. The STORE and other adjustments will be made to make the page will be more visually appealing and easier to navigate. Party time!

everyone may not appreciate the chalk board hood but overall the car is “clean as a whistle!”
(whatever that means?)
the hood is flaming :X haha
TRUTH HURTS
“Let’s face it, outside our little bubble, the average consumer doesn’t really want, or need, a fast Civic,” states Rodrez in the latest Honda Tuning magazine and he’s absolutely correct. He continues pointing out that Honda, in reality, has always been focused on “people-moving based on MPGs, value, and reliability.” But, what is it about the economical, cost-friendly, rice cooker powered Honda that attracts us? Is it the ability to put your own touch to the chassis at an affordable price? Perhaps, but there is always Nissan who has built performance themed platforms from the factory and also has a reasonably priced aftermarket. What I believe, although many Honda enthusiasts would hate to admit, is the challenge of winning after being recognized as the long shot. Yes, you’re the underdog. With the exclusion of the NSX, S2000, SI & Type R editions and maybe the RSX Type-S, Honda has put little effort into appeasing their tuner following which makes us even more interested. Doesn’t it? With that said, take a moment to appreciate your rice bucket as your hard work and DIY mentality will one day pay off when you wipe the smirk off your opponent’s face as you overtake them at a fraction of the cost.

Honda Day 2010 by Pat C
The day has come where video has become nearly as popular as photography and we can reasonably expect edits to be released within a week after the event. In light of digital editing software and HD cameras, Pat C wasted no time (this debuted 2 days after the event) releasing his coverage from last weekend’s Honda Day at Englishtown Raceway. Let me the first to say good jerb!

Honda.Day.2010
Yesterday, August 15 2010, Joe aka FRENCH and myself went to Honda Day 2010 at Englishtown (props to Sean PANA Stuart for inviting us). So here’s how the day went for me. Woke up at 6:30 AM to wash the car, took a shower, headed out to meet up with FRENCH, and then drove to E-town. I was in the show, but I didn’t compete because of complications with registration, but I still had a lot of fun. It was great to see some familiar faces and some e-famous and not so famous rides. I met up with PANA and we talked for a few and he gave us some crazy complements which really meant a lot. It was great to have conversation with a fellow car enthusiast and photographer about more than just cars and pictures of cars, but its culture. We can look at pictures all we want, but growth in the enthusiast, the culture, and the quality of the cars being built, is the ultimate goal of IvyLeagueEast because for those people out there that really do build cars because of their love for cars and all things incorporated, the car would not be sh!t without them. Remember, YOU should be building the car, NOT an internet forum, NOT a viral website, NOT youtube, just YOU!
So this post goes out to all of our less fortunate single cam, non-vtec toting car owners, as well as our lucky DOHC vtec equipped B, H, F, 2.0 or 2.4 liter K series, or 6 cylinder J series boasting die hard Honda fans.
Special shout-outs go out to Sean PANA Stuart, Sol Fresh Krew, New Image Motorsports, Dave Tormey and the rest of the Canibeat crew, and the one guy with the Red S2000 on teal Works for shutting-it-down!
Here’s our coverage from the show. Forgive me for the quantity of pictures that I took, but I think these will suffice.

Honda Day@ Atco Raceway,NJ
Instead of attending Street Wars 6 my buddy Evan and I made our way to Atco Raceway, New Jersey for Honda Day. But, before we could go I had to make it back to my house from NYC after an evening of celebrating.
After 2 hours of trains and a little walking I finally made it back with enough time to shower and eat a measly yogurt….
we saw this beauty* on the drive. form>function? lmao
payin’ to play
There were a lot of distasteful rides there ,at least in my opinion.
This place was flooded with EG and EK Civic hatchbacks. I would say like 30% looked like this. Honestly there was less than 20 sets of authentic wheels at this place out of the 400+ cars in attendance
and then there were some very fine examples.
of the 20 sets of authentic wheels 3 sets were CCW’s….. super nice
This nissan must have lost its way…. good thing
Scooters were there in full effect.
I was disappointed with the RSX (DC5) turnout but this one was done incredibly well. I’m sure it won something at the show.
the scene was super enthusiastic about Hondas and saying F*ck the police lol
Evan was pumped to get some Eat.Sleep.Race license plate frames as you can tell hahaha
some other funny looking cars…
Eg Heads
In my opinion, these are the best Eg hatches EVER! Challenged by very few, the blue and tan Civics take into consideration current trends but also share some of the classic attractions. Rob Chan shot these at what he calls the “MemoryFab BBQ aka Honda-Tech Jizz Festival” capturing the beauty that is these Hondas.

Passion
The issue of “selling out” has become a topic of concern amongst the tuning community. Individuals building rides for the sole purpose of a magazine feature to gain leverage on the re-sale. The subject has been further discussed by Joe@ The Chronicles, therefore rather than elaborate on what he has already been made clear I’d like to bring your attention to a group of individuals, the FF Squad, who have a closer connection with their builds. SuperStreet recently interviewed the club here.
