Vacation

This past weekend I had the luxury of taking a short 3 day cruise to the Bahamas with the family.. After returning we met up with some family in Coral Springs, Florida.. I then get a message from Sheldon saying he lives 10 minutes away.. This lead to us meeting up and me snapping a few photos of his nicely put together AP1… Enjoy!

Discuss: Critical

Taking moment to put not only myself but also ILE in a position of judgement from an unbiased perspective it would appear that recently we’ve been taking a rather critical  position on all things automotive related amongst other subjects. Given this is a medium of which we pay for and further more control, we could just flip everyone the bird  and go on with our bad self but with respect to the automotive community and our followers I’ll address the issue with tact and sincerity.

The thought came to mind as would any topic of interest would, through inspiration. A conversation, exactly, although not immediately related brought into realization how opinionated we have become, passing judgement and analyzing every detail of ones build and life. To our defense, it’s just what becomes of the enthusiast when all of his/her previous expectations are fulfilled and the fine line between what’s awesome and what is mediocre is less definitive.

An inspection of myself uncovered this query; Who am I to criticize someone’s pride and joy… besides a gentleman and scholar with great tastes (kidding… almost)? In all seriousness, the decisions people make and the lifestyle they’ve selected is solely their choice and my opinion is, well, just that.

Bringing this topic full circle. I wanted to thank everyone for contributing their $0.02 (“two cents”) via our FACEBOOK and the comments section. The energy that drives this industry is strengthened within these channels and it leads to innovation that’ll hopefully reward innovators, and not imitators, resulting in faster, more reliable, attractive, sports cars.

CCW, a brand that has become a standard amongst the fitment concerned, at least in my opinion, has earned its “stripes” in all avenues of tuning. Below 3 S2000′s wearing LM20s and Classics join an NA2 NSX

Roll That $h&%, Light That $h&%, Smoke That $h&%- Amuse S2000

The internet should be no stranger to this Amuse widebodied, Laguna Blue, Ap2, S2000 as very few will ever reach this level of modification. If your immediate thought is wow what a hardparker, you’ll be in disbelief to know that this beauty is used and abused.

Karim Kerawala’s NA Mazda Miata

It’s late and I’m tired but the motivation I have to write fueled by the fact that I know you upstanding ladies and gentlemen will read this pushes me beyond my physical capacity. With many of my short term goals nearing their point of success I’ve got nothing but energy to share Karim Kerawala’s NA Mazda Miata. Having expressed his love for and loyalty towards IvyLeagueEast in an email submission, it would be an injustice not to share the gum scraper. WINNING

Battleship Grey Miata

My harddog roll bar is in and I’m ever ready to turn my S2000 in to an RWB styled masterpiece but looking at this slammed Miata makes rethink my decision to do the bar instead of the hardtop at 5 times the price… hmmmm no going back now. SHUFFLING!

Evasive’s Apex Blue S2000

“If you don’t use it, you lose it” may not apply to owning a “high” performance car but if your ownership is leaning towards the conservative side of things than you are only doing yourself a disservice.

Evasive takes this Apex Blue S2000 to the a new level of performance with Spoon aero pieces amongst other performance parts.

Family Tree: NA Miata

Having survived 3 different owners, this very special Mazda Miata has made it’s way on to the fourth. Having moved through family members and then on to the open market one previous owner is in search of its current progress.

Heat Seeker

I was never really a fan of the Charge Speed widebody kit for the S2000 but the Seeker S wears it well competing against the Arvou AP1. Clearly you need Craft Square mirrors to be taken seriously on the track lol

Got Make It Right Baby, S2000

The select choice of aftermarket aero parts comes together beautifully on this “mint berry crunch” Ap2 S2000. More than often the Spoon hardtop appears out of place but the clearly this is not one of those particular occasions. “SHABLAGOO!!”

I’m Saying…

I saw it coming. After recognizing drifters utilizing different front and rear wheels as drift spares and such it only seemed like a matter of time before this trend was going to be adopted amongst the show and street tuners as a style. That being so check out what might be the best show or street? (undefined) S2000 to date, arguably of course.

More Miata PLZ

The sun is setting and the top is down, the wind is warm and the passenger resembles the girl you dreamt about the evening before, all while cruising along a road riddled with twists and turns perfectly constructed to exercise the cars limitations. This is the thought that comes to mind when I’m asked about my passion which is more frequent than you would believe and for some reason my passion has developed into a obsession with particular attention to roadsters. The S2000, 911 Turbo (Cabriolet), Miata and Cobra are a few cars that have always sparked my curiosity when the right enhancements are applied. That being so it is only natural to feature this NA1 Miata shot by Andy Carter, a CANIBEAT and SouthernFresh photographer.

On a tangent I was looking at Miatas on Craigslist and I love when the post says RARE… “You are really dumb”

Touge MX-5

After enjoying the hilly and abundant twists of Northern New York all last week, the flat roads and subtle turns downstate have lost their appeal. Sigh for a cold gray day.

Given the circumstances I am posting this broke neck photo of Leng’s Ap2 s2000. ASM front bumper paired with the uber JDM lip and Work Meister S1 wheels, is there really anything else you could ask for? Yes, some better photos

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner

It’s hard to resist poking fun at the miniature convertible but all jokes aside the Mazda Roadster is the most raced platform amongst any model or brand and continues to hold the title for best selling convertible. Taking an alternative approach at the decorated MX-5, this owner infuses modern style to the text book racer.

Cars are often the theme of my conversations (and I’m sure many of yours). Usually discussing the performance aspect of things or picking someone’s brains for insight and information, the topic never seems to get old. In a recent discussion, the subject of getting to the track more often occurred. Having never driven on a circuit before the idea of lapping a car that is expensive to maintain, while learning, was exhausting. Thoughts such as frequently replacing pricier brake pads, rotors, bushings, all the different fluids, etc had me cringing. Like any normal person the idea of picking up a dedicated track beater became a necessity rather than an option. Considering all makes and models to embark on my journey in, the reputable and affordable Miata came into mind. As a firm believer that a car should perform and look good doing it, a quick look around would have me favoring the micro convertible.

What do you think?

Shits Weak

I just got back from a horrible execution of public relations. The Need for Speed Hot Pursuit tour made a stop this evening at the Manhattan Classic Car Club. As always, I was excited to meet individuals with a passion for super cars and interested to see how the audience responded to the game demo. Disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm for both fine automobiles and video games I made an escape early, of course after a couple complimentary brewskis (I took the train home). I want to know what the demographic targeted was because if it was a bunch of leeching hipsters then they hit the nail on the head. Do yourself a favor and don’t go to the tour stop in your area or buy the game (it sucks).

This S2000 made me feel better.

Staple

Becoming a staple amongst wheels, considering its versatility (show and go) and ability to transform the look of any vehicle, CCW classics have swept the automotive field. A commonality at shows and tracks, the wheel company’s growth has been noticeable. Recently the classics have been distinguished as the “it” wheel and expected to become as popular as the RPF1s. I doubt that, keeping in mind the cost of a set classics are a more than twice as much as the Enkeis. Although, if Classics did become that prevalent I’d still be down.
